Josh 15th birthday today.. wow where did the time go..
Anyhoo I've made a chocolate cake and he asked for pink icing...last year he had red icing... pink is just a colour he doesn't worry if it's a girly colour... it's just a colour and just for fun! :)
He doesn't want gifts this year, just money.. so he can go uptown with his mates on Saturday...

Well i've just had a three day weekend that was owing. The weather was fab, got sunbunt and had a good time! Whoo.. shame it's come to an end, but there ya go! :)
Bought three pairs of shoes for a decent price, but one has to go back as the strap broke as soon as I put them on... gutted! They were pretty, so I hope I can get a replacement pair(the same).
Oh well off to bed... it's soooo hot and stuffy, I am sweating watching tv and playing on the computer! Gah! :P

I think I'm ready for Christmas now.. one more day of work then that is it..
We are having a Christmas work Breakfast which is being paid for becasue we'd all worked so hard that the salon got a nice bonus :) I'm very tired and quite ready for the two day break!
I've been walkin the five(or is it four K) to work every morning for the past three weeks or so.. takes between 45 mins to an hour if I'm slow! Lucky it's mostly downhill, but it's still a fair walk and there's a nice steep uphill in the middle just to make sure I'm awake *lol* I have to start out about 7am, but often I seem to leave around 7.10 and I get to work around the 8ish mark!
David has bought me an early xmas pressent, a pretty bluish/shimmery/purple mp3 player to plugin to my ears while I go walking.. it's been great, although I get to work looking red faced and hot.. then I do my hair and makeup at work, so I'm all fresh for the day! My boss thinks I might fade away, but I'll believe it when I see it.. there's a lot to fade.. HA! :D
Anyways it should be a nice xmas day, we're going to Leyannas for dinner(she wants me to make the trifle), looking forward to sleeping like a log on Boxing day.. I'm so naffed!
Boxing day is typically the biggest shopping day in NZ, where sales abound and everybody tries to get the best deal...some people do their next years xmas shopping then too!I try to keep away from town that day.. but David has to work..yuk... the salon will open again on Saturday and we'll be back at it again! :D
Oh well I'm real tired and have a real early start, walking early for our breakfast...
My feet are tired too... and my back and my shoulders and...

YEah I know that's a song title... but yeah, I don't feel very Christmassy at all this year...not in the mood, no deckies up, don't know what to buy and ..guuh... just don't feel it..
The kids are getting older, so it's not the same, our families are spending it all sepparately and well it's not just a big deal... Work is busy, but not like it was last year...
I really can't get into it... I will be doing some shopping tomorrow, but still it's going to be a quiet affair this year!
(edit) Yeah the weather's not helping at all..what happened to Summer.. Spring was great.. but now we shot right back to miserable, grey, rain, wind and ick.....
We need Summer to have a great Christmas...
Wish northern hemisphere traditions were eased out of Christmas and have our Southern tradions properly...we atill have snow items in Christmas deckkies and so forth... we need more sunny stuff.. less icicles and xmas snow...
Christmas bbq's could be a bit sad if the weather doesn't pick up!
The weather can definitely play a part in mood...

I have a pretty cascading softly curled ponytail hanging down my back, I love it.... it's not extensions though, it's just a big clip in thing. It sat and stayed in very well all day while working today, although I'm not used to the weight and the pull of the thing.. it's given me a bit of a hair-ache! :)
Will try and get a photo of me wearing it sometime... :)

It is invariably way too hot, that is not sun shiney hot, but stuffy, muggy hot.. I'm dead tired but my feet are hotter than hell and won't let me sleep... they get all kicky and jumpity... aaarrrgh...
The skin itself is not hot, but on the inside they are boiling.. my ankles have swelled up something 'orrible!

Thaank goodness the US elections are over(yay and yay), now we can get on with our own elections on Saturday.. I'm sick of all the excess politics from US and NZ. Tonight we have Guyfawkes.. how ridiculous.. still do not think we should be celebrating this outdated UK custom. Anyhoo IT"S F'KING SNOWING.. WTF.. I MEAN IT"S BLOODY NOVEMBER ALREADY.. We had hot weather two days ago.. I know we did, I got sunburned, AND NOW, SNOW... great!
Supposed to clear by Saturday I think!
OH THE MADNESS... Yes the christmas stuff has been rolling into the shops now for the past few weeks and now all the fliers and booklets from the shops expounding the vitues of early shopping..
I can't believe how much real junk mail we've been getting this year... holy moly, they've decimated a whole forest by now.. and now the christmas shit is comming thick and fast! :P
Yeah bah humbug... I'll do my xmas hopping when I get there and not before... I only have so much money to go around...

YEs it's that time of the year yet again... No besides Halloween,
It our wedding anniversary and the 25th one to boot, so that's a silver one.. very cool!
We spet most of it apart today though, David at home and me at work dressed up for Halloween.. yes the girls thought it'd be fun if we dressed up for the day *lol* So I went as a Vampire, with flowing cape and dark makeup.. looking very vampish HA! :) The customers took it in good fun though! :)
It's not really a New Zealand tradition at all, but comercialism, you see, creeps in at a speedy pace and before long it's another money maker for the retail outlets! *sigh*
Aaanyway yeah, so now we are watching all the halloween stuff on TV...Sleepy Hollow(Johnny Depp) is on and then I've got four days off.. so not doing anything too mad as we're pretty broke.. but still it'll be good anyway! :D

but that's how I feel today... We did have plans to go to dinner for my birthday tonight, but those plans were shot when we realised we weren't going to have enough money, so then Leyanna and family were comming over for the day, but now they're not as they have the flu, then rang me up to say happy birthday and that they're feeling better and lets meet up in town, then rang me back to say no, Justyn is still feeling sick, so no go... wonder what else will not happen... David has already had to be at work today, from 7.00am till 5.30pm, so I'll have to cook tea... Josh wanted to go to the movies and I wanted to go to the butterfly house at the museum, but lack of funds stuffs that up!
I'm going to do the washing and cry while hanging out the washing...

I got a parcel in the post yesterday(via Tokyo), was a bit surprised.. I knew who sent it though! A friend of ours who was at the Beijing Olympics and passed through Tokyo on his way back home to NZ. Anyway he saw these comics and thought of me(strange man)... Two versions of Shonen Jump manga.. one the Japanese version(weekly, the 40th weekly SJ, Summer 2008, 491 pages) and the other the English version(I think it's a monthy complitation of the best, Sept 2008, Vol.6, issue 9 with 384 pages) and another much thinner comic in Japanese.. I don't know what it's called, but it's for anime, comic and games, it's dated(2008.9.5 vol.184 with 38 pages) it had two websites printed in english on the front..

Josh has had 3 days off school this week.. with a horrible vomiting bug.. I took him to the Doc on Thurs as I think that's too long to be vomiting... but there didn't seem to be anything extra that was wrong other than the vomiting... Dr gave him a full examination but yeah he just has a bug, after that I decided we'd go to the movies and see Hellboy 2, which I liked, Josh thought it was okay and better than than the first, but that wasn't saying much... Oh well. He didn't vomit at the movies or since then although we gave him another day off school.. I think the bug is or has worn off mostly!
Tomorrow, well probably later today now(at this time), there is an after work drinkies which I shall go down and partake thereoff.. should be quite fun! :)
The weather has turned back to rubbish after having a good springlike start to Sept.. I was hoping my hols would have some great weather and especially able to get washing out on the line, but not so far... bugger.... I hate having to drape stuff over the clothes horse and have that hulking rack take up space in the lounge(best room for drying).. bugger..again!
Oh well better off to bed.. David has a very early start.. it'll be fun not to get up real early and go down with him for a change... ;)
Josh and I had a really relaxing day today...it was great!
